Satara CBG Upgradation Plant

The company owns Asia’s largest biogas up-gradation plant, located in the Satara District, Maharashtra, India and has installed more than seven million cubic meter of annual gas production. It is the largest independent alternative producer of compressed biogas in India. The Plant was installed in November, 2011. Plant produces 11,000 Nm3 compressed biogas (CBG) per day by using 600 tons of spent wash. Green Elephant maintained CBG quality is 97 to 98% methane percentage.

The business model is to generate and up-grade biogas to a high-quality fuel sold at competitive prices to industrial customers like Asian Paints, Essar Steel or Mangalore Minerals.

Green Elephant aims to increase its production and developing a pipeline of 4 additional large-scale projects at different planning stages. By 2020 a portfolio of 10 plants is targeted to be owned and operated by Green Elephant.
